Event recap
Towards Inclusive Shared Decision-Making, With and For Women and Girls in the Global South
This event took place on April 23 and 24, 2026, at VITAM – Centre for Sustainable Health Research, in Quebec City, Canada.
The ENGAGÉES project illustrates how shared decision-making can contribute to social justice in health by fostering more egalitarian relationships between patients and healthcare professionals.
During this forum, we had the privilege of welcoming researchers Monica Vieira and Eliane Chaves (Fundação Oswaldo Cruz) from Brazil, who shared their experience and the lessons learned from the project in the field. We also had the participation of postdoctoral researcher Roberta de Carvalho Corôa.
In addition, researchers from Cameroon participated remotely to present their work and enrich the discussions.
This event was marked by the sharing of knowledge, dialogue, and the highlighting of perspectives from the Global South, within a collaborative and committed approach.
This event was organized by the project's lead researchers, Amédé Gogovor and Simplice Eclador Nouboudem Basso.
